Teams
We usually describe team as a 'group of people working together to achieve their goal. A good team is said to be one where the whole of the team is greater that the sum of its parts; and this signifies that the team members are working in teamwork with each other.
Many teams have worked together and the output has been lesser than teams made up of less intelligent minds. So while a team does move towards a common goal, how well it achieves this goal depends solely on how well the team members work in collaboration with each other.
MC Donald’s Team
The McDonald's team plays an important role. Crew and Managers work together, constantly communicating and supporting each other in a team atmosphere that is busy and challenging, but always strives to be cooperative and fun.
One of the best things about working at McDonald's is the friends you can make. The interesting people you'll meet will ensure you have a great time at work. And if you enjoy social activities, you'll have chances to spend time with your colleagues at special McDonald's events including summer picnics, holiday parties and other organized outings.
At McDonalds interpersonal skills and co-operating with other is the most important thing because here you have to deal with so many customers; and also you should be friendly, kind and co-operative with your team; help each other e.g. if one of the team member need help or can’t deal with the customers or not sure what they are doing; you should offer them help if you can’t tell somebody else to help them.
Benefits of team working
One of the great benefits of teams is that you can take what appears to be a massive task and divide those tasks between people. As a result, things get done faster.
To make things better one of the fastest ways to get good at something is to see someone in action that is already excellent in an area. When team members all play to their strengths, you learn a lot quickly for example When a team member have a problem that you needed to solve you probably get so far and then end up getting stuck because of your own range of experience or knowledge. When you have access to the wider range of skills and knowledge you ultimately solve problems faster and better.
If one person in the team operating on their own can generate ideas, at the same time, the breadth of the ideas of one individual will be limited by their experiences to date. With a team with a wide range of experiences, you can generate many more ideas.
To succeed they need to be able to get their messages across to the team members, listen effectively to other points of view and build on ideas. As a result of being on the team, people are getting the opportunity to develop and improve their communication skills.

“McDonald's has offered an all-employee car ownership plan (Aesop) to 50,000 UK staff after they showed major interest in the perk. The Alpha Drive scheme, administered by fleet provider Alphabet, offers staff the choice of lease length and a fixed cost package that includes maintenance and road taxes. The new scheme offers discounted Renault, Peugeot, and Mini and BMW cars. Alphabet already provides the fast-food giant with company cars.”
Our People
There isn't a typical member of McDonald's staff. Our employees come from all walks of life. But whether you'd like to join us as a Crew member or a Trainee Business Manager, there are certain qualities you shouldn't leave the house without.
Trainee Business Managers
Above all, we value people with a positive attitude towards customers, themselves and other employees and who have high standards of personal performance. The ability to understand and adopt our customer-led culture is worth as much as any qualification. But then that goes for all our employees.
To join us as a Trainee Business Manager, you'll also need to be a logical thinker who can apply common sense as well as relevant background experience to different situations. Tenacious, energetic and hard working, you'll be the proud owner of what others call a 'good attitude'. You'll of course need to be decisive, but that should always be tempered with sensitivity.
As you're likely to end up managing a 60-strong staff, it goes without saying that you'll be a people-orientated team player with an overall pleasant and good sense of humour. And while we're not saying that you need to be an all-singing, all-dancing entertainer, your personality should lean towards the extrovert rather than introvert.
On top of all that, you’ll have either a degree or sound management experience which has afforded you good transferable skills.
Crew Members Roll
As a Crew Member you’ll also need to be confident in approaching and dealing with diverse groups of people. Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must. You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.
Explain to a novice what the IIP awards is all about
The Investors in People Standard is a business improvement tool designed to help employers improve performance by linking people development and skills acquisition to the specific aims and objectives of their businesses, to assess and improve the performance of their employees.
The National Training Awards (NTA) provides a framework for benchmarking the training of organisations and individuals and a sharing of stories that demonstrates that learning pays.
Acquiring one can help with the acquisition of the other. Organisations who have achieved IiP may be encouraged to apply for a National Training Award because of something special about some element of their learning journey. Similarly, an organisation winning a NTA for particular training programs may be encouraged to seek further recognition for their approach to learning and development within the organisation as a whole.
